Cockroaches and dust mites are both allergens that can trigger wheezing. The dust mites are microscopic creatures that thrive on human skin cells usually present in dust. Dust mites usually inhabit sofas, bedding and carpets which trigger severe allergic reactions among those who are sensitive.

Mold allergy can trigger wheezing episodes. Mold usually grows in moist areas such as areas below the sink, in the shower and even the windows.
